Who are we?
The Collaborative Center to Advance Health Services (the Collaborative) at the School of Nursing and Health Studies is a mission-driven, passionate, inclusive team of interdisciplinary public health advocates, researchers, educators, and managers at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. We write, develop, and implement grant projects that support our overall mission - to advance health and wellness by bringing research to practice, supporting organizations through change processes, and providing high quality training and technical assistance to the healthcare workforce. In our work, technical assistance refers to the aid that we provide to healthcare practitioners and other professionals so that they are better equipped to implement evidence-based strategies and interventions. This aid is developed in the form of webinars, in-person trainings, educational materials, and so forth.
People who thrive in the Collaborative are self-directed critical thinkers willing to learn the ropes before taking the reins. Strong candidates will be quick learners and nimble multi-taskers. Our team members expand their creative, problem-solving wings as they grow in their roles; however, the fun, creative, thinking work is often paired with the nitty gritty of multiple and competing demands and deadlines. Our most successful and satisfied team members are well-rounded and able to embrace a range of work responsibilities. We believe all people deserve access to high-quality health services. If you are passionate about this vision too, you will fit in here!
