Cost-Effectiveness of Digital Mental Health Versus Usual Care During Humanitarian Crises in Lebanon: Pragmatic Randomized Trial. JMIR Ment Health. 2024 May 29;11:e55544. doi: 10.2196/55544. PMID: 38810255; PMCID: PMC11170045.
Background:
Digital mental health interventions for depression, anxiety, and stress-related disorders are generally cost-effective, but evidence is lacking for guided digital mental health care in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) facing humanitarian crises. Step-by-Step (SbS) is effective for Lebanese citizens and war-affected Syrians in Lebanon. Assessing SbS's cost-effectiveness is crucial due to Lebanon's strained health care system.
Objective:
This study aims to assess the cost-effectiveness of SbS compared to enhanced usual care (EUC) through a randomized trial.

A multisite study provided an opportunity to investigate the prevalence of lifetime trauma and variations by gender, PTSD status, and chronic pain.
Methods: A cross-sectional study analyzed baseline data from participants (N = 303) enrolled in a randomized controlled trial of a mind–body intervention alongside MOUD. All participants were stabilized on MOUD. Measures included the Trauma Life Events Questionnaire (TLEQ), the Brief Pain...

INTRODUCTION:
The interplay between pathological narcissism and substance use disorder (SUD) complicates diagnosis and treatment planning. A lack of clarity and consensus surrounding the different forms of narcissism has made it difficult to fully understand their connection. Therefore, this review provides a brief history of the concept of narcissism, it’s manifestation, treatment, interdependencies with SUD and identifies gaps in the literature.
METHODS:
A non-systematic literature review of existing research to synthesize the literature on the relationship between narcissism and...

Read key findings from the 2022 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH). This report highlights 2022 statistics on substance use, mental health, and treatment in the United States. These national indicators are measured among people aged 12 or older in the civilian, non institutionalised population. Estimates are presented by age group and by race/ethnicity for selected measures.
Along with the full report, which includes both figures and text descriptions, a set of slides is available which includes just the figures from the report.
While integrated services for mental health and substance use health have been studied for more than two decades no recent or comprehensive reviews exist — particularly with a peer research methodology — on how the people who use these services experience integration.
To address this need, this study explores
how people with lived and living experience (PWLLE) define service integration,
what gaps and demands exist in mental health and/or substance use health services,
why participants do or do not support further service integration,
