The purpose of this workshop is to provide education on substance use in the African American community. By participating in this workshop, participants will become educated on substance use and the stigma associated with seeking treatment in the African American community. Lastly, this workshop will discuss the lack of best practices and how to engage African Americans in substance use disorder treatment.

  • Understand the impact of substance use disorder.
  • Examine substance use disorder and African Americans.
  • Discuss substance use disorder treatment among African Americans.
