The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on the implementation of treatment programs for people with problematic drug use. Social distancing and other measures taken to protect public health have the potential to affect continuity and access to programs.
Furthermore, this reality will present challenges for the substance-using individual and their families, having to adapt to a new environment, and accentuating social, economic, and access to health problems.
