Anahaita Kotval, Chief Executive Officer, Lifting Up Westchester, discusses her observations from the front lines of what it takes to provide care for homeless populations. This lecture explores some of the key challenges faced in serving homeless populations and the promising approaches to solving these problems, such as partnerships with non-traditional entities or utilizing social service navigators.

Used to admire Anahaita Kotwal's work and the overall purpose of the organization. The fact that Lifting Up Westchester talks about the issue of homelessness shows that there are still people in the world with big hearts. In 2019, I conducted an analysis in which 67% of free chat respondents indicated they were deeply concerned about homelessness, but only 21% of them did something to help them. Social services need to spend more time educating the public on ways to help, otherwise, it will do very little good.
