Saffron spice is effective in treating ADHD symptoms

Sara Baziar and a group of researchers recently published the results of a randomized 6-week trial, which found that the spice saffron (Crocus sativus L) had similar efficacy to methylphenidate (MPH) in treating symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in young people. Even though there are short-term positive results, it is necessary to conduct future studies including placebo-controlled groups, with more extended treatment periods in patients with broader clinical characteristics of ADHD.
