PMGR: Recovery Kentucky: A Successful Model of Addressing Substance Use Disorder
The May 2023 Preventive Medicine Grand Rounds (PMGR) features Recovery Kentucky, a social model program that provides housing and recovery services for rural Kentuckians dealing with substance use disorder. The program is led by the Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), the state Department of Corrections, and the state Department for Local Government. It demonstrates how addressing social determinants of health improves health outcomes and emphasizes the importance of a peer-driven recovery approach, along with cross-agency collaboration, in solving population health problems.
