Description

The Achilles heel for many women in or seeking recovery is tied to unhealthy and toxic relationships, from family of origin to adult romances. This presentation will use powerful keys from family systems theory to provide practical tools for getting free from limiting beliefs that fuel negative relational cycles during the recovery process. In addition,  we’ll discuss the extraordinary trends from the last seven years that have been birthed by women grappling with their own or a loved one’s alcohol or substance use disorder.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to describe why negative relational cycles repeat across multiple generations.
  • Participants will be able to describe and demonstrate use of a tool for interrupting negative relational cycles and increasing emotional sobriety.
  • Participants will be able to identify and research current women thought leaders who are transforming the cultural dynamics and options for women in recovery.
Content Level
  • Intermediate level courses provide information that builds on knowledge practitioners with some experience already have. These courses focus on skill-building or adding knowledge, possibly following a brief overview of basic information, and involve using information in concrete situations and understanding the underlying structure of the material.
