Join the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North Thames on March 31 at 1 - 3pm CET to explore and discuss insights into the barriers of implementing evidence and how innovation in social care can be supported by research and collaboration.
About this event
Hosted by the ARC North Thames Academy, this free webinar will feature three presentations by Professor Jon Glasby, Dr Juliette Malley and Dr Lisa Trigg, exploring how we can better support innovation, and tackle implementation challenges, in the social care sector. The talks will be followed by a 30 minute panel discussion and a chance to ask questions.
Implementing evidence is difficult in any public service, yet there are particular practical and cultural barriers to overcome in adult social care. This session shares insights from the co-design phase of IMPACT (the new UK centre for implementing evidence in adult social care), including the perspectives and experiences of people who draw on care and support, carers, front-line practitioners, service providers, commissioners and national bodies. In the process, the session explores what constitutes valid evidence and who decides; whose voice gets heard when we have these debates; practical and cultural issues to consider; and emerging lessons about how best to support and embed evidence, innovation and change.
