Training of Master Trainers on the "NAVCHETNA" module
ISSUP India chapter in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE), Government of India developed a teacher trainer resource module called "NAVCHETNA: A new Consciousness on Life Skills and Drug Education for School Children." The NAVCHETNA Module was officially launched on July 30th, 2022, in Chandigarh, in the presence of the Hon'ble Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, Government of India.
As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign) initiative, the NAVCHETNA module will be disseminated and administered by trained teachers with the aim of raising awareness and providing education on life skills and drugs to students in schools. To facilitate this process, the inaugural session of the training of Master Trainers on the NAVCHETNA module was organized today by the ISSUP India chapter at Chandigarh. The training will continue from May 31st to June 2nd, 2023, at the State Council of Education, Research, and Training (SCERT) in Sector 32, Chandigarh, India.
The program was inaugurated by Shri Narender Singh, the Director of MSJE, and co-chaired by Shri. Sanjay Kumar, the Under Secretary of MSJE, along with Ms. Prabhjot, the State Coordinator from the Department of Social Welfare. During this session, ISSUP India Chapter representative Dr. Rajesh Kumar and Gary Reid, representing the team who has authored the module attended the inaugural session.
