ISSUP held a Regional Meeting for its National Chapters in Africa from August 21 to 22 in Arusha, Tanzania. ISSUP Tanzania had the privilege of hosting this important meeting.
The core objective of the meeting was to strengthen the network of ISSUP National Chapters in Africa and provide a functional platform for region-specific discussions on prevention, treatment, recovery support, and harm reduction.
National Chapters from various African countries attended the meeting: ISSUP Nigeria, Kenya, The Gambia, South Africa, Uganda, Botswana, Togo, and the host agency ISSUP Tanzania (Tanzanian Drug Control and Enforcement Authority – DCEA). Partner agencies represented included The Colombo Plan and the African Union.
