Presenter:
Dr. Honest Anaba
Dr. Honest Anaba is a certified Addiction Medicine Physician and Clinical Director of the Resurgence Recovery Centre. He is a Diplomate of the International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM) and an International Co-Occurring Gambling Specialist. In the last 8 years, Dr Anaba has made valuable contributions to improving the addiction healthcare systems for diverse populations in Nigeria. As the Chief Medical Officer at GetCare Africa, he leverages clinical expertise to develop innovative technological solutions for addiction treatment. He serves as the Country Representative for SMART Recovery International (SRI) which has supported hundreds of individuals in recovery from drug and behavioural addictions.
Dr. Anaba’s impact extends globally. He leads research projects and committee initiatives for ISAM's New Professionals Exploration, Training & Education. He develops telemedicine protocols for Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (TMOUD) as part of ISAM’s Global Expert Network. He also serves on the Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee at the American College of Academic Addiction Medicine.
At Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, he is a Center Scholar for Drug Safety and Effectiveness. He was recognised by the American Academy of Healthcare in Addictive Disorders as the first physician from Nigeria to earn the Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) certification. This underscores his years of dedicated service and commitment to transforming the addiction treatment landscape in his region.
