Restructuring of National Chapters Advisory Committee
The National Chapters Advisory Committee has embraced a new format of leadership and expanded its membership in the Latin American Region.
The new structure of leadership for the Advisory Committee consists of two (2) Co-Chairpersons. The current chair, Samuel Bettiol (ISSUP Brazil) and a new Co-Chair, Roger Weimann (ISSUP South Africa). As part of the leadership succession plan; Roger Weimann (ISSUP South Africa) would be supporting the current chair, Samuel Bettiol from now till September 2024. Subsequently, Roger becomes the lead chair supported by Troy Clarke (ISSUP Bahamas) for the next two years. Troy becomes lead chair from September 2026 to September 2028.
As a recap, the committee was reminded of the Advisory Committee membership which was structured to ensure a regional representation from the international spread of National Chapters around the world.
Diana Lesme (ISSUP Paraguay), Sergio Chacón (ISSUP Chile) and José Luis Benítez (ISSUP Mexico) from the Latin America region have recently been appointed to the committee. These appointees bring on a wealth of experience and expertise that enhances the ability of the Committee to deliver on its mandate.
The National Chapters Advisory Committee is an independent decision-making body with the main purpose of offering guidance to the global coordination of the ISSUP National Chapters and will serve as an avenue for addressing issues or challenges by National Chapters.
