Webinar on “Females with Substance Use and Society: Do’s and Don’t’s of NLP and Hypnotherapy
On Sunday, June 26, 2022, an activity was planned online to honor the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Females are at high risk of substance use with lack of opportunities to reach treatment facilities as compared to males. The societal factors are serving as great stigma in continuing victimization. The gender based outcomes needs immediate attention to prevent suicidal behaviors among the users and trauma in the personalities of their dependents. Unhelpful family systems, failure of utilizing adequate parenting skills and glamorized advertisements made it easier for women to progress through the stages of addiction frequently than men around the world. Above 100 students and professionals participated in the seminar. Fatima Hope Psychological Center collaborated in the success of the event. In conclusion, suggestions to reduce the impact of the cultural factors were discussed. The role of Neuro-linguistic programming and Hypnosis was also highlighted.
