Description:
The relevance of having a family perspective on the treatment of youth drug use will be addressed.
An understanding of problematic drug use in young people is developed from a relational perspective, understanding drug use as an adaptive response of the family system to contextual and/or historical factors in the evolutionary development of the family. Some considerations arise regarding the problem in the current context of stress for families that the confinement/deconfining process has taken place, and how this has been affecting the problem of substance use.
