Rights, Respect and Recovery: Action Plan
In 2018, the Scottish Government released the Rights, Respect and Recovery: Scotland's Alcohol and Drug Treatment Strategy.
Scotland's first drugs strategy for a decade focuses on treating the issue as a public health concern rather than a criminal justice issue. The strategy also stressed the importance of having a clear focus on prevention and early intervention.
This Action Plan sets out the actions, milestones and timeframes for activity to implement Rights Respect and Recovery – Scotland’s Strategy to Improve Health by Preventing and Reducing Alcohol and Drug Use, Harms and Related Deaths.
This Action Plan covers the time period up to 31 March 2021 and will be refreshed on an on-going basis as new activity is scoped and new challenges emerge.
