UNODC Training on the Nature, Prevention and Treatment of Drug Use Disorders with more than 60 Cambodian Policymakers

More than 60 policy-makers participated at UNODC Workshop on the Nature, Prevention and Treatment of Drug Use Disorders for Policy Makers in Siem Reap, Cambodia from 12 to 14 June 2019. This high-level workshop was inaugurated by H.E Prof. Eng Huot, Secretary of State from Ministry of Health and was organized in coordination with WHO Representative Office for Cambodia, UNODC Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific and the generous support of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), United States. The goal of this training is to support Member States in developing appropriate policies, strategies, programmes and interventions targeted at preventing drug use and increasing the availability of and access to comprehensive systems of care for people affected by drug use and drug use disorders. Participants included representatives from the Ministry of Health, Justice, Social Affairs Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, Education Youth and Sport as well as the Cambodia National Police, the National Authority for Combating Drugs, Provincial Health Departments, Cambodia Psychiatrist, WHO, Civil Society Organizations and other entities.
