Inaugural Ceremony of 3 days UTC and HIV/AIDS Prevention Training
The inaugural ceremony of 3 days training of Universal Treatment curriculum (UTC) 1 and HIV/AIDS was held in Sialkot jointly organized by Mian Afzal Trust Hospital (MATH), Gujranwala Pakistan (Approved Education provider of Colombo Plan GCCC) and M.A Jinnah Foundation, Sialkot supported by Mr. Bashir Naz Newly-Elected President, ISSUP Pakistan. The inaugural ceremony started with recitation from Holy Quran by Mr. Muhammad Javed, Director Coordination, MATH. Mr. Muhammad Ayub, Senior Adviser Colombo Plan, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Naz and Ms. Farah Uzmi Member Provincial Assembly (Punjab) were the chief guests. Mr. Sana Ullah Rathore, Mr. Muhammad Aslam, Dr. Muhammad Nadeem, National Trainer, Muhammad Javed, Ms. Shahida and participants of training were also present at the occasion.
Mr. Sana Ullah Rathore Chairman MATH said that the training was a great opportunity for young professionals. After getting trained professionals could practice in their settings. He also said that after completion of these training professionals could take the ICAP examination. MATH will support and facilitate the professionals who want to take the exam. He also thanked Mr. Bashir Ahmad Naz for supporting the UTC training. Mr. Bashir Ahmad Naz said that he would support the UTC training series for young professionals through Education provider Mian Afzal Trust Hospital, Gujranwala Pakistan. Mr. Aslam said that MAJF organized the UTC training with MATH to promote evidence-based practices.
Mr. Muhammad Ayub, Senior Adviser, Colombo Plan opened the 3 days UTC 1 and HIV AIDS prevention training and congratulated Mr. Bashir Ahmad Naz, MATH and M.A Jinnah Foundation for the initiative. He also said that Colombo Plan fully supported such evidence-based practices like UTC training. Colombo Plan conducts UTC training in 42 countries around the globe. CP fully supports Education provider MATH in this initiative as the Education Provider for the training. He also said that in the future Colombo Plan would conduct an International Addiction certification exam in Pakistan for credentialing Pakistani addiction professionals. Ms. Farah said that she fully supported MAJF and MATH for eradication drugs from the Punjab province. Dr. Nadeem Ahmad, National Trainer, said that he would fully support training initiatives and facilitate the training of UTC. Mr. Javed said that MATH would conduct UTC training also in the future. He also thanked the M.A Jinnah Foundation for its collaboration.
