Visit of Mr. Bashir Ahmad Naz, Meeting for Future Collaboration for UTC Training

Mr. Bashir Ahmad Naz, newly elected President, ISSUP Pakistan visited Mian Afzal Trust Hospital (MATH), Gujranwala Pakistan. He was warmly welcomed by Mr. Sana Ullah Rathore, Chair/Executive Director & other board of Directors, MATH, Mr. Arshad Javed Mughal, & Mr. Sufi Muhammad Javed. Mr. Bashir Ahmad Naz congratulated Mr. Sana Ullah Rathore for his success in the election as Director. Mr. Sana Ullah Rathore and other MATH Board Members congratulated Mr. Bashir Ahmad for his victory in election as President as well as the success of the 7 Directors out of 9 Directors from Unity Addiction professional group. Ms. Saima newly elected ISSUP Director and Mr. Muhammad Aslam were also present. The newly elected President visited various departments of MATH. He appreciated the unique rehabilitation program of MATH comprised of psychotherapy, vocational training, vegetable farming and fish farming on big areas of land. He said that MATH has made great contributions to the treatment of patients of SUD in Pakistan and to the training of substance use professionals. During the visit Mr. Bashir Ahmad Naz and Mr. Sana Ullah Rathore also discussed the dire need of training of treatment professionals. It was also discussed that in the future ISSUP Pakistan Chapter and MATH (approved Education provider of GCCE Colombo Plan) would make plans to conduct UTC training for treatment professionals. It was also decided that Mr. Bashir Ahmad Naz, newly elected President, Mr. Sana Ullah Rathore & Ms. Saima newly elected board members would visit different cities of Pakistan for the promotion of ISSUP and holding of ISSUP members meetings.
