Compilation of Evidence-Based Family Skills Training Programmes
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime’s (UNODC) Compilation of Evidence-Based Family Skills Training Programmes offers a treasure trove of information on such initiatives, answering key questions like:
- Who is the target group?
- What does the programme entail?
- How are the sessions structured?
- In what languages are courses available?
- What materials are needed, and how much will they cost?
- What are the staffing requirements?
- What are the programme outcomes?
In total, 23 evidence-based family skills training interventions for substance prevention, which have been found to be successful, are covered.
The document is aimed at policy-makers, programme managers, NGOs, among others, interested in implementing family skills training programmes.
It is hoped the guide will assist suitable programme selection, as well as supplement the Guide to Implementing Family Skills Training Programmes for Drug Abuse Prevention - a previous UNODC document that provides guidelines for the adaptation of existing evidence-based programmes to specific cultural settings.
