Analysis of Cannabis seized in Chile

The most consumed drug worldwide is Cannabis, Chile is part of this reality, to establish the concentrations of the main components of this drug a study of 490 samples of seizures from all over the country was carried out. The analytical methods used were instrumental planar chromatography (HPTLC) and gas chromatography coupled to selective mass detector (GCMSD). The cannabinoids delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), Cannabidiol (CBD) and Cannabinol (CBN) were analyzed. The total of the samples analyzed contains THC, in a wide range of concentrations with an average THC of 14.7% w / w; CBD was detected only in four samples and at concentrations below 2.5% w/w.
