Partenaires internationaux

L’ISSUP cherche à jouer un rôle unique dans le domaine de la prévention et du traitement de la consommation de drogues en devenant l’interlocuteur principal pour les informations relatives au monde de la prévention et du traitement.

Sa création n’a été possible, et son rôle et sa pérennité ne seront assurés que grâce à la collaboration et à l’appui fourni par les grandes agences internationales œuvrant dans le domaine de la drogue. En particulier, l’ISSUP a pu mettre en œuvre ses activités en concertation avec l’Office des Nations unies contre la drogue et le crime (ONUDC), l’Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS), l’Organisation des États Américains (OAS) et l’Union africaine. Ces organisations sont devenues les observateurs internationaux du Conseil d’administration de l’ISSUP.

D’autres grandes agences régionales et nationales ont également joué un rôle de premier plan dans l’appui à la création de l’ISSUP. Il s’agit notamment de Agence de l’Union européenne sur les drogues (EUDA), du Centre canadien sur les dépendances et l’usage de substances (CCSA), de la Société de recherche en prévention (SPR), de la Société européenne de recherche en prévention (EUSPR) et de l’organisation Applied Prevention Science International (APSI).

Les organismes suivants ont été d’une importance fondamentale pour la création et le développement de l’ISSUP : le Plan de Colombo et son Programme consultatif sur les drogues (DAP) et le Bureau international chargé de la lutte contre les stupéfiants et de l'application des lois du Département d’État américain (INL) qui ont été à l’origine de l’initiative et en sont les principaux bailleurs.
