Vu Thi Tuong Vi, a current Ph.D. student at Brandeis University-Heller School, has over 18 years of experience leading addiction treatment programs and coordinating initiatives in Vietnam. She was formerly a head of the drug addiction treatment program at Ho Chi Minh City AIDS Committee. She coordinated Vietnam ATTC at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in HCMC and was a Vietnam UNODC and UNAIDS consultant.
She focuses on evidence-based interventions for HIV, addiction treatment, and prevention. Her work prioritizes vulnerable groups, especially women who are injecting drug users, aiming to enhance the health of substance use disorder (SUD) patients and their families. Ms. Vu's research generates valuable data utilized by policymakers in areas like substance use, HIV prevention, and high-risk populations, including the LGBT community. Committed to making a positive impact, she seeks to contribute significantly to the well-being of the most vulnerable through her research and interventions.
