Quang Anh Mai, an LGBTQI+ member, a compassionate advocate and a social worker, has dedicated 13 years to transformative work in addiction, HIV and mental health. For a decade, he served at the Center for Training and Research on Substance Abuse and HIV (Hanoi Medical University).
In 2021, he founded Wecare Social Enterprise, a community-based and dynamic organization serving vulnerable communities at high risk of HIV infection, addiction, and mental health issues. Under his leadership, the team, composed of experts spanning psychology, general medicine, public health, social work, nursing, and community leaders, collaborates to provide comprehensive care.
Quang Anh has played a pivotal role in research and projects addressing the healthcare needs of people using drugs, tackling methamphetamine challenges among young MSM, and championing innovative solutions like PrEP and long-acting PrEP for high-risk populations in Vietnam. His unwavering commitment reflects a profound dedication to community well-being and health equity.
