Mr. Md. Abdus Sabur Mondal PAA is the Additional Secretary to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. In his capacity, he assumed the responsibility of the Director General of Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) under the Security Services Division (SSD), Ministry of Home Affairs on 16 September, 2021. Prior to assuming his current post, he served the same department as the Additional Director General from 24 June, 2021 to 15 September, 2021. Previously, he also served as the Director in the Directorate of Government Accommodation.
Md. Abdus Sabur Mondal PAA is a career administrator with years of multi-functional experience. Earlier in his career, he has served as the Assistant Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner (Land), First Class Magistrate, Nezarat Deputy Collector, Upazila Nirbahi Officer. Through a series of different senior positions that included the Senior Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Shipping, Director at Prime Minister's Office, Deputy Commissioner in Chandpur district, Director at Bangladesh Tourism Corporation and Director in Access to Information (a2i) Programme, his entire professional life has been committed to the government service of the republic.
Over the years, his highly illustrious career as an administrator has brought him recognition and prestige. As an acknowledgement to his remarkable contribution in pioneering the concept of District Branding and for branding Chandpur district as the ""Ilish er Bari Chandpur'' (Chandpur: The Home of Hilsa), he has been awarded the esteemed Public Administration Award (PAA) at the national level in 2016. Among other notable mentions, he was rewarded as the best Deputy Commissioner of Bangladesh in 2016 and the Public Administration Award at the district level in 2019 as an appreciation of his outstanding role in reducing maternal and child mortality of Chandpur district.
